A Paws-atively Terrific Good Time

The Paws & Claws Gala is an annual fun-filled fundraising event that directly benefits the Edmonton Humane Society.

Now in its 12th year, it is a wonderful evening that brings together the business community, pet lovers and supporters to celebrate the love of animals and success stories of the EHS.

The Paws & Claws Gala is known as a great night of music, laughs, gourmet food, as well as unique silent and live auction items. Plus, there’s always the friendly and forever grateful EHS alumni animals to mix and mingle with who are ready to greet guests with a welcoming paw.

A Purr-fectly Great Cause

The Paws & Claws Gala was created by the staff of Coventry Homes out of the desire to help animals in need. A cause close to the hearts of many of their employees, they decided to get together and specifically champion the work of the Edmonton Humane Society. Recognizing that not just people, but animals need a good loving home too; the Coventry staff wanted to find a way to make a difference and give hope to these often overlooked loving companions.

Through their inspiration, the Coventry Homes Homes for Hounds initiative was born in an effort to generate funds to support the EHS and their amazing programs.

Led by Coventry Homes CEO, Henri Rodier, the company initially pledged a goal of raising $500,000, which they have now surpassed. In the past 10 years, the Coventry Homes initiative through the Paws & Claws Gala has raised $1,002,000 for the EHS.

The annual Paws & Claws Gala is a vital link to the EHS. The monies generated at the fundraiser ensures continued outstanding medical and behavioural care, as well as safety, security, enrichment, love and compassion for thousands of animals sheltered by the EHS each year.
